Personal info: I am a designer by trade. For over 20 years I designed a collection of women’s wear under the “Leighton Barrett Label”: Designing housing interiors was a side line originally, but has now also become a serious part of my business. This has been a great experience and a fulfilling extension of my career. I hope it shows in the lofts I have created.
Exclusive Leighton Barrett Designed Lofts: Over the past 5 years I went from having one exclusive “Loft” for furnished rental, to now offering 5 exceptional properties.
My original property (The Cathedral View Loft) was the top floors of my Plateau warehouse building I bought for my personal residence in the 1980’s. Over the years,I also continued to fully renovated the lower two floors (The Showroom & Tribeca Lofts). Then after realizing I did not really need so much personal space, I advertised the “Cathedral 3 Level Loft” as my first rental loft done in a fully furnished style.
In 2005 I took the plunge so to speak and added two more properties to my “roster”. “The Atrium Loft” and “The Pied-à-Terre Apartment” were renovated and furnished in June. Their location is wonderful, as it is just adjacent to Carré St Louis Park right off of St Denis Street.
The 5 loft units I personally own are all architecturally and interior designed by myself. I suppose my personal stamp of taste is evident on these units. My clients have been more than impressed with my places, and all were very happy to have been my tenants for both long and short visits alike. Many are now also return clients and they often pass referrals to me from friends and business associates who are also wishing to find a certain style of loft accommodations in Montreal.
We try to maintain a high quality of a modern esthetic, and a special level of design and detail of all aspects of the furnishings and decor, in all of the properties we offer. Our aim is to give only the best quality of services to all our renting clients during their stays.
Our Clients: Over the past few years I have had a variety of tenant clients. We have had many key movie personnel that have been in Montréal on film productions : Set Designers and Costume Designers, Directors and Producers especially. I have also had a number of “name” Actors and Actresses as tenants. The lofts have also been used for actual scene filming on a number of occasions.
Executives as well, have used my lofts as their temporary “home” during their initial periods of early relocation to the city, wanting some down time to make adjustments before settling in comfortably by themselves and usually purchasing their own properties. I have had clients from companies like Telus, UB Soft, ICAO (The World Airline Association), Comcast, Montreal University Hospitals, and even visiting professors for the various Montreal universities. Also I seem to draw an artistic and creative group of persons of all ages: guests have come from such companies as Calvin Klein, Martha Stewart, Oprah, Versace, and Abercrombie and Fitch to name only a few.
